Compulsive and pathological gambling are increasing problems in Kansas City and the Midwest.

While millions of people successfully keep their gambling as a social activity, thousands of others need help to keep it from taking over their lives—and the lives of loved ones.

If you, a loved one, a friend or business associate are fighting compulsive or pathological gambling, this Web site offers help.

Compulsive Gambling is a progressive behavior disorder in which an individual has a uncontrollable preoccupation and urge to gamble. This results in excessive gambling, the outcome of which is the loss of time and money.

The gambling reaches the point at which it compromises, disrupts or destroys the gamblers personal life, family relationships or vocational pursuit. These problems in turn lead to intensification of the gambling behavior. The cardinal features are emotional dependency on gambling, loss of control and interference with normal function.
